God Speaks in a Dream

This time, I want to tell about the little miracle that happened to me earlier this week.

One night, when I had just fallen asleep, I saw a strange little dream. I was alone in the hotel room and someone said to me: "Open the drawer. Take the Bible from there, and read the Psalm 37:5." That's all. Then I woke up right away. I was slept only few seconds, hardly at all.

Now, when I was awake again, I opened my Bible and I found that verse, Psalm 37:5. It says, "Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass." I had read this passage before in my life, I know that, but I didn't remember the chapter or verse.

"...and He shall bring it to pass." What is IT? Only I know that. Because just before my dream, I was thinking about one problem or question in my life. Now I can trust that God will bring "it" to pass, when I commit my way to Him. Right? Regarding "it", the Bible itself confirms my idea: a previous verse (4) in the Psalm 37 says, "And He shall give you the desires of your heart."

This was the second time when I got a clear Bible verse in my dream. The first time was on the 4th of July in 2005. At that time, the passage was also from the Book of Psalms. For one whole year, that Bible verse was like my "motto", and it became a reality in my life. It was a marvelous year!

Sometimes God can speak to us in a dream. Not always of course, but sometimes. The Bible declares, "For in one way God may speak, and in a second, but one does not notice it. In a dream, a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls on men; while they slumber on the bed, then He opens the ear of men and seals their instruction." (The Book of Job 33:14-16)

Sometimes even angel appears in a dream. The Bible tells how an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream (The Gospel of Matthew, chapters 1 and 2). The faith is another dimension of reality, and it really works when I surrender my life to God's plan. In the Bible God says, "They shall come with weeping, and I will lead them with prayers." (The Book of Jeremiah 31:9)

Was my dream a miracle from God? Time will show that when it will become clear, will "it" come true or not...

  1. Hi Teisuka,

Thank you for your new post, whose message is really inspiring. I believe in your story because there has been many testimonies of the miracles brought about by the God. I think it was some sort of guidance that the God gave you through your dream. Only those who have strong faith in Him can experience this, I think. In this way, you are truly blessed. :)

I also like what you said about surrendering your life to God's plan. This is also a matter of faith. In this world, everyone will inevitably come across pains, illnesses, difficulties and hard situations at some points. If we have a strong faith in God, then we'll always have a positive attitude and more strength to deal with all the things that do not go our way. Of course, it easy said than done.:) But I think practice will push us toward that direction.

Recently I have also met some problems, one of which is related to my dental implant. It seems that it's not as comfortable as I expected. At some points, I was so worried. Then I told myself: surrend to God, and He will take care of it eventually. Then I have a better mood, believing that things will get better. Tomorrow I'll have another dental appointment, and hopefully my dentist will make everything right. I've been praying for this for the past several days. Please also pray for me as I believe prayers can really work. :)

Thanks again for your post. Hope everything is going well for you now.

    Best,
    Bao

    1. Hi Bao,

Thank you very much for your great comment, my friend. I will surely pray for you and your problems. I believe that everything will be fine. Just do what you can, pray, and trust in God.

I don't think that I have a strong faith. No, I'm not a good "believer". Actually, I feel I am weak and desperate enough to looking for help from religion. That's all. :)

Finally, I want to add here two powerful verse for you and I and everyone who have some needs or problems:

"Cast your burden on the Lord, and He shall sustain you" (Psalm 55:22)

"Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened." (The Gospel of Matthew 7:7,8)

All the best and blessings to you, my friend.

    2. Hi again, Bao.

One more thing I forgot to say. I like what you wrote: "I think it was some sort of guidance that the God gave you through your dream." Exactly. I also think so. And because God used his "Written Word", I find it more believable and reliable. Frankly, I'm very enthusiastic for this. That kind of guidance is not usual for me. Again, blessing to you and your wife and the whole family. :)

    3. Hi again, Teisuka,

Thank you for your kind response. I really like the two verses that you shared with me. They are definitely inspiring and comforting. Please don't say that you are not a good believer. I think everyone may struggle with his or her faith from time to time. Sometimes we have doubts about our faith or belief, sometimes we don't believe that God is there for us, even we totally forget about Him. I think it's very natural for us to be like that because we're not perfect, and it takes a lot of time and efforts to grow spiritually. And it's also natural for us to feel weak and seek help from religion. I think as we think of God when we feel weak or desperate, we are just embarking on a journal of spiritual growth. I remember there is a verse in the Bible which says "when we are weak, then we are strong." So I think we're going to be strong though we might have to go through a lot before that. :)

      Thanks again!
      Bao
P.S. I'll see my dentist in a few hours. I'm praying that everything will turn out well. :)

    4. Hi Bao,

Many thanks for your kind visit and wise words once again, my friend. I can only say amen to everything what you wrote. Feeling spiritual weakness is actually okay, because when we are "weak", then we need God, and we are not "drunk with our own power". :)

I love that Bible verse very much: "When we are weak, then we are strong." (2 Corinthians 12:10) It reminds me of one great sentence in Tao Te Ching: "The weak overcomes the strong; the soft overcomes the hard." Exactly same thought (paradox), isn't it? God, how I love Chinese wisdom. ^^

I hope everything went well this time in your meeting with your dentist. For my part, I'm a bit sick at at the moment, so I will be offline for a while. See you later, my friend. Blessings.

      Blessings to you,

  2. Dear Teisuka and Bao,

I am grateful for all your sharing. God/Essence speaks to me in dreams, most often symbolically and occasionally directly with a voice I hear.I've never been directed to read certain passages of scripture, though. Your blog is wonderful, Teisuka. Many blessings to you and to our mutual friend Bao.
