David Wong (February 1, 1954 - May 8, 2011)
Teresa Teng (January 29, 1953 - May 8, 1995)
Our friend David Wong died two years ago, on the same day as his favorite singer Teresa Teng. David's channels are still exist on YouTube, Gonenow2007 and Bernardf372. Please visit there and send him some good thoughts and prayers. David was a great guy, and Teresa Teng was the greatest female singer ever. May 8 is an anniversary day for both of them. May their souls rest in peace.
It was a strange coincidence that David died on the same day as his favorite singer. In November 2010, doctor found cancer in David. On 1st of January 2011, he lost his another foot in operation at the hospital. Then David died on 8th of May, 2011 in Hong Kong...
Later I heard that David became a Christian on his deathbed. Just like Teresa Teng was a Buddhist orginally, but she was baptised a Christian when she was still child or student. If you want to know more about Teresa's religion, click here.

Please see this video, 天路 索朗旺姆 ~ A Road in Heaven (click the name of the song) and video above, 漫步人生路 鄧麗君 (Teresa Teng - Walk Through the Road of Life). Both these videos were uploaded by David in 2008. Thank God, his videos are still available! For us, his friends, his videos are like a memorial sites, the places we can visit from time to time.
David, we still remember you, and we miss you so much. We will never forget you. Sleep well, buddy. We will see in Heaven... For me, you are a role model as a man: to live for something, to die for something!
David was a very good friend to me. I remember him very often since then. We had just a few years together on Youtube, but also a happy time. The TT MV (first one on this blog) was even my favorite of mine for a very long time.
ReplyDeleteBut now, I´am also near to cry because of my feelings... Thank you very much my friend Teisuka!
Jörg (06.05.2013)
Dear Jörg,
DeleteMany thanks for visiting here and remembering the memory of our mutual friend. I know you knew David for a long time. For my part, our friendship was too short. Since August 2010 till his early death... But very good friend he was, oh yes. On these days it's not shame to cry a bit... But I'm glad that David's friends still remember him. He is in a good place now - way better than this world...
Blessings to you, my friend Jörg.
Teisuka
David, I know you are happily living in the Heaven with many joyful friends! If you have a spared time, please feel free to visit my YT channel listening your favourite songs. THANK YOU !!
ReplyDeleteWinston (May 6, 2013)
Dear Mr. Winston,
DeleteThank you very much for writing such a touching and heartfelt comment to David! I am also sure that everything is fine with David now. They say, the best music is in Heaven...
All the best to you, my friend! Again, thank you for visiting my blog.
Teisuka
ReplyDeleteDear David, your spirit is always with us, when memories are all we have. Happy sleep, our dear friend! @)-',---

Dear Tai,
DeleteThat was beautifully said. Amen! Thank you for remembering the memory of our friend. Indeed, his spirit lives among us.
Blessings to you, too, my friend!

Dear Nika,

Blessings to you.

Dear Tembo-san
ReplyDeleteThank you very much for sharing your thoughts with us.. I'm sure David Wong read this, too and is smiling at you! -^^-
When you first posted this, I read it via my phone.. and I was so sad. So I kept ordering more and more ginger ale hehe *ahem* You and I both shared many poignant moments with David, yes? He lives on in our memories, bright as the biggest, shiniest star in the sky!
Tembo-san, CHEERS to the wonderful and noble David Wong!
Tembo-san, arigato!
- Michiko
Dear Michiko-chan,
DeleteThank you very much for your beautiful and hopeful message. On your memorial video (comment section), you reminded us about David's humorous side. I thank you for that. :) Yes, we have no reason to be too sad today, because David is fine where he is, in a better place... He lives on in our memories, and he lives in Heaven. Cheers to the wonderful and noble David Wong! ^^
By the way, I called him 'Chinese samurai', and that always made him smile. He said me, "It kind of make me laugh, that I had been called "samurai"; I am not Japanese, but I always respect the codes they follow, i have to say i just try to be good, far from respectable! haha."
I always remember David's last message to me, a day before he went to the surgery where he lost his another foot. These were his last words to me: "Thank you, will be in touch. For now please support Ms. Micko."
He always called you 'Micko'. ^^ And I will always support you, Ms. Micko. I promised that for the dying man... Again, cheers to the wonderful and noble David Wong!
All the best to you, my dear little sister, and again: thank you for coming by today!
Teisuka
Sorry about David's death. But it's an honour to have the same death anniversary as our great diva Ms Teresa Teng.As her ardent fan I have learnt alot about her.She was never a Christian. She and her brothers went to church when she was very young,( in junior high school, perhaps) because her family was very poor .The church was offering food then and they went ro collect food for the family. In fact she only attended High School for only one semester.
ReplyDeleteHi Ttfren,
DeleteI do not know you, but thanks for your comment. Frankly, I find your comment a bit cold and superficial. Sorry, but I'm a plain-spoken guy... See: this is anniversary article or obituary of my friend who suddenly passed away two years ago. We do not argue here about the facts concerning Teresa Teng. This is a place for David's friends to remember him, express their yearning, and write their messages to him. Regarding Teresa's religion, please see my another blog article titled "Teresa Teng - The Angel Came Down to Earth", and comments there. I know Teresa was a Christian, just like my friend was.
Sincerely,
Teisuka
Hi Teisuka,
ReplyDeleteThank you for posting this blog to remember David Wong. I didn't know him although you once mentioned him in a message to us over one year ago. I just checked out his two wonderful channels, which contain quite a few great videos featuring nice songs including those by our beloved Teresa Teng. I really feel sad for his premature death. May he rest in peace. You did a great job to pay tribute to him on his death anniversary. I think he will definitely feel great in heaven to know that he had a great friend like you. I wish that I could have known him when he was alive. It seems that he was such a wonderful person.
From now on I'll pray that Youtube will never be out of buiness, and his channels will never be removed because of their inactivity. I want his channels and videos to be there forever so that people can always enjoy his videos, and I think this is the best way to remember him.
Thank you again for being so thoughtful to post your message here. It's such a wonderful and gracious gesture. At the same time, I know it's from the bottom of your heart to remember him. Good job, my friend!
P.S. I'm sorry that I did not come here earlier to post my message. For the past several days I've been busy handling family issues that bother me a lot. I did not check your station, and I kind of also stayed away from YouTube. I will not "fast" in terms of using YouTube, but I'll definitely be "on a diet" for personal reasons.-:) So sometimes I may not be able to respond to the videos and comments posted by you guys right away, but I'll be there to give feedback eventually. Hope you guys can understand my slow reponses. :)
Bao
Hi Bao,
DeleteThank you very much for your kind and heartfelt message, my friend. I really appreciate that! Yes, I am sure you would be a good friend with David, too. It's a pity you had no chance to know him.
You wrote: "I want his channels and videos to be there forever so that people can always enjoy his videos, and I think this is the best way to remember him." Amen, Bao! I completely agree with these words. I really hope that YouTube will never suspend David's channels for some reason. You know, they have terminated many old, "ownerless" channels...
By the way, there is no any hurry to response. No pressures, no hurry. I understand you very well. Just like you, I'm not so "fast" in YouTube anymore. :) That means, I am not online every day. We all have other duties, too. I hope your family issues will be solved soon, and everything will be fine. I wish all the best to you and your loved ones, my friend. Again, thank you for also remembering the memory of David Wong!
Blessings,
Teisuka
Dear all,
ReplyDeleteA big thanks to all of you, my friends, who remembered the memory of David Wong here! I have a pleasure to say, that this is THE MOST COMMENTED ARTICLE on my blog! I'm sure that David is glad for this and smile, "Oh, thank you... to all of you!" ^^ One more time, CHEERS to our wonderful and noble friend David Wong! You will be always remembered, buddy!
Finally, I want to quote Jesus Christ, "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?" (The Gospel According to John 11:25-26.)
So, we have no reason to grief too much, because David is not REALLY dead.
Blessings.
Teisuka
Hi Teisuka,
DeleteThank you for sharing the quote by Jesus Christ, which gives hope to everybody. By the way, I've subscribed to both of Mr. Wong's channels, hoping that this small gesture will help keep his channels "alive." I hope many more people can subscribe to his channels too, not only as a way to pay tribute to him, but also as a way to make the channels more lively. -:)
Thanks again for what you have done for David Wong. Have a great weekend! -:)
Bao
Hi Bao,
DeleteThank you very much for supporting David and subscribing both of his channels. I really appreciate your kindness, my friend! It is pleasure to see David's channels are still alive and well, and they are even growing. Let's hope they will always remain. One year ago, Gonenow2007 had 139 subscribers and now 308. I am very glad to note this! :)
Thank you for being here, my friend, and keeping David's memory alive. You're such a great friend, Mr. Bao! Blessings to you and your loved ones. Have a great weekend! :)
Teisuka
You're such a beautiful friend... May your friend, David, rest in peace in Heaven.
ReplyDeleteMonica
Dear Monica,
DeleteAww, thank you so much for visiting here and for your beautiful words. I really appreciate it. For sure, David rest in Heaven and all is well with him... Blessings to you and your loved ones, Monica. ^^
Teisuka
I have no idea who any of you are, or even who David was. But it's quite nice seeing him still getting remembered to this day, and it's quite touching seeing this memorial towards him.
ReplyDeleteHi there,
DeleteMany thanks for your kind words, who ever you are. Yes, we have to remember our friends forever. Just today is the 5th anniversary of the death of David, and also the 21th anniversary of the death of Teresa Teng. And David was a huge fan of Teresa. May they both rest in peace. I pray for their eternal souls...
Teisuka (May 8, 2016)
I was researching about jazz pianist Thelonious Monk particularly to learn more about his cover of Kojo no Tsuki. Your YT video came up and at first I just listened to the song. I was quite amazed by the beauty of the song so I decided to read the notes to the song, which is where your memorial is for your friend. I was a bit saddened so I visited your link here. I lived in Japan 10 years and I love the country and its people. I attended mass regularly although so very Catholic churches in Japan :-) Anyway, I want to say, may the loving embrace of our Lord Jesus Christ comfort you, and may your friend David Wong's soul, and Teresa Teng's soul, rest in eternal peace in the heavenly kingdom.
ReplyDeleteHello, dear unknown (no name in your message). Thank you for your kind comment on my post from 11 years ago. I'm glad you found it. God bless you. ^__^
